Man Pleads Guilty. Jailed One Year In Cole Court

A crowd packed the Cole courthouse as Robert Tremain pleaded guilty to wife and child abandonment and was sentenced to one year in county jail. Meiburger, charged with wife desertion, had his case continued ninety days after his wife reconciled with him. Tremain begins serving immediately.

James Arranges Wrestling Matches at Jefferson Theatre

Jake Reed and Ceorie Travos, well known in Central Missouri, will appear on Peter James's athletic card at the Jefferson Theatre on Wednesday. Reed faces Joe Silva, a 200 pound Portuguese wrestler, while Travos meets Youre Sandew, 185 pounds. A preliminary bout pairs Wildcat Mayo with Harry Sappington of Columbia. Sappington is quicker and more experienced. Other bouts are planned.

Methodist Scouts Met Last Night

Troop of the Methodist Church met last evening with fifteen present. Arthur Blaser received his tender foot badge, Justin Williams and Ben Meyers passed the knife and axe tests, Gilbert Strievel the compass test. Billie Burnett earned a 59 hour civic service badge. Next meeting Friday evening Feb 6 will include first aid and signalling tests.
