Wilt Chamberlain scored 38 points and grabbed 18 rebounds as the Kansas Jayhawks defeated Kansas State 79-65 to win the Big Eight Conference basketball tournament crown. KANSAS CITY The Big Eight Government Assn ended its annual meeting Saturday without agreement on athletic policies. Missouri delegate Ben Martin pushed a resolution to equalize Big Eight athletic requirements, but the effort failed. Dick Patterson of Kansas was elected association chairman and Myron Silverstein of Oklahoma vice chairman.
