Meller of Lohman was spotted driving on Highway 50 west, turning into Harrison Street. His passenger Margaret Louise Larrimore of near Centertown denied driving. Meller was jailed. A Jefferson City resident since 1933, he moved from Perry and worked as an accountant in the state treasurer's office. Born August 15, 1892, he married Berta in 1919 and is survived by his wife, three brothers Bert, Edward R., and Noel, and two sisters Roda Ferris and Alice Paris. The body lies in state at Buescher Funeral Home until 8 pm, with funeral and burial in Perry, Missouri.
