The Burfordville covered bridge and mill, restored at a cost of about 7600, were turned over to Missouri Park Board and may close to vehicle traffic. Elevated road link approved for Kansas City
The U S Department of Transportation approved a Missouri Highway Commission plan for an eight tenths mile elevated highway linking Kansas City crosstown freeway to Interstate 70 in Kansas. The six lane Interstate 670 will handle 6000 to 8000 vehicles per hour, says chief engineer Robert N Hunter.

Blind couple wed in Las Vegas after long friendship
Marjory Stewart who has been blind since infancy and Gene Stahl once sighted but blinded by glaucoma married in Las Vegas. The 76 year old bride and soon to be 2 groom celebrate a 16 year bond begun in Los Angeles at the Braille Institute. They lead Active Blind Inc. and planned a book project while organizing church events for New Year turnout.
