A house one mile north of Lindburg, about 20 miles northwest of Fulton, was ransacked Sunday night. A diamond ring, two women's handbags, two children's piggy banks, meat, eggs, and coins were missing. drawers were scattered and the entry was through a window. Sheriff P C Goodman and the Highway Patrol are investigating.
The Federal Reserve Board reports department store sales for the week ending Dec 20 were 3 percent higher than the comparable week in 1957, with 11 of 12 districts up and one down. For the four weeks ending Dec 20, sales were 3 percent higher than a year earlier. year-to-date dollar volume unchanged from 1957. St Joseph residents will wake Tuesday morning to a city twice as large in land area. At midnight about 9 000 acres will be added to the north, east and south, giving St Joseph a total area of 28 square miles. The population will gain about 7 000, raising the 1950 census figure of 78 588. This is the first major boundary expansion since 1909.
