1200 Greetings Sent Out By Telegraph Here
More than 200 greetings were sent by wire by Jefferson City people during the holiday season this year. This represents a 50 percent increase over last year, according to Western Union officials. Two teletype machines will replace the Morse senders in the Capitol branch office when the legislature convenes Jan 5. The teletype machines are geared for about 70 words a minute, while a Morse machine usually sends about 35 words a minute.
