CHICAGO, Dee. In a hospital ward a 15 month old pair, Rodney Dee and Roger Lee Brodie, marked their first week as separate individuals. Doctors say tension has eased though Roger remains unconscious and both face brain infection risk.
Mississippis worst Christmas Eve highway disaster left eight dead, four of them children, when a car and a big trailer truck collided head on near Indianola. The lone survivor was in critical condition as wreckage blocked the road for over two hours and the truck burst into flames after the collision. Authorities could determine the cause in seven of the deaths.

Scientist Bombard crosses Atlantic aboard a yacht from Monaco to a remote beach, living on sea food and plankton with no fresh water. He carried emergency rations unopened, faced wind damage and sharks, swore his voyage proves man can live on sea food alone. Also, Charles Gardner, 44, pays a $15 fine in a police court for attempting to swindle taxi fare and must reimburse the fare.

Albert William Schneider 62 of Bland died at 3 PM Tuesday at a local doctor's office after an acute cerebral hemorrhage. Born January 25, 1890, in Bland, he married Sophie Sassman in 1917. she died 17 years ago. Survived by six daughters and two sisters. Funeral services at Cooper Hill.
California obituary notes Walter Allee 82 retired farmer died at his daughter Mae Comer’s home after a stroke. He was born September 5 1870 in California and was son of Press and Mary Allee. He married prior to 1900s. Funeral arrangements planned for Friday in California.
