Ashland Special-Sentinel Treating Inc will start a 50000 dollar plant in Ava next month with completion in four months. The Ava site was donated by Ava Industrial Development Corp. About 27 workers will process wood for fencing and construction. Raw material from nearby Douglas County forests will feed both Ava and Ashland plants.

Christmas charity spreads from Autaugaville Pearsons
In 1930 Autaugaville Alabama the Pearson family turned Christmas leftovers into gifts for local families. Since then every December 26 they begin on their lawn and tour 60 stations across a 10 mile radius, delivering toys foods and goods to about 1200 people with help from friends. Their three children will carry on the tradition.
