United States aid to Britain has intensified with authorities noting Britain is receiving far more American built fighting planes than the U S army during November. Exact figures were not released but observers say Britain obtained roughly tenfold the aircraft numbers. The imbalance follows the army's swap of current production for later model aircraft.

County by county quotas issued for the first January draft call of 340 Missourians to be mustered into the army. Trainees, to report to Fort Leavenworth, come from western Missouri, with detailed counts from Grundy, Livingston, Carroll, Buchanan, Jackson, Vernon, Barton, and Jasper counties on January 6 and 7, plus additional picks from Green, Barry, and 26 other counties.

An undisclosed number of Army units will depart New York for Newfoundland next month to garrison the northern Atlantic naval and air base being built for Britain. The ship Edmund B. Alexander will serve as a floating barracks until shore facilities are ready. Colonel M. D. Welby will command the base, with the units attached to the First Army and administered by the Second Corps Area from Governors Island.
