Lincoln University Rejects Appeal of Budget Cut

Lincoln University officials today declined to appeal Gov elect Christopher Bond's $721,000 reduction for 1973-74. Interim President Dr. Gerald Brooks said the university would appeal to the legislature instead. The university sought 4.1 million in state funds. Bond's preliminary budget provides 3.4 million.

Young Demos seek new post in Missouri party leadership

The Missouri Young Democrats plan to ask the Democratic State Committee to appoint a youth advisor who would liaison between the state committee and the Young Democratic Clubs of Missouri and chair the youth communications committee. Kansas City was chosen to host the 1973 convention.

Economy shows gain in industrial production in November

The Federal Reserve announced a 1.1 percent rise in industrial output for November, following a 1 percent increase in October. The index reached 118.5 percent of the 1967 base, up 10.3 percent from a year earlier, with unemployment at 5.2 percent and retail sales roughly unchanged from October. Additionally, a separate note mentions African dogs reaching speeds over 40 mph and averaging 30 mph for several miles.
