William Lawrence Doyle and Dick Garthhofner, both from Moberly, were killed in a Carrollton highway crash on Highway 24 near 12 miles east. Three other people, Dorothy Dockery Hazel Avery and George Helensmith, were injured and treated at a local hospital. Witnesses said Garthhofner lost control of the car, which rolled several times.
