At the American Public Welfare Association conference in Chicago, Samuel Marsh, director of Missouri’s Public Health and Welfare, urged expanded mental health facilities nationwide amid rising cases among the elderly. The Missouri legislative commission found care adequate but underdoctors and attendants, with overcrowded hospitals. Over 600 welfare and health officials attended. Mrs Josephine Boehm of Rich Fountain Missouri died at Latham Sanitarium in California on Wednesday at age seventy after a month of hospitalization. Born in Loose Creek she lived in Rich Fountain since marrying John Boehm who preceded her in death. Surviving are sons Adolph and Henry Boehm and daughters Mrs Peter Dresel and Mrs Phillip Luecke, all of Rich Fountain. A lifelong Catholic and member of the Married Ladies Sodality.

Woodrow W. Blackmore 36 died unexpectedly yesterday at his sister Mrs Homer Branch home seven miles SE of New Bloomfield. A Mexico Mo resident, he had visited his sister the past few days. Born Nov 17 1912 at New Franklin he was the son of Lemuel A and Lula Blackmore. He is survived only by his sister. The funeral will be Sunday.
