Richmond killed in highway crash near Jefferson City
Clyde Brown Richmond 43, assistant to the head of Kile Construction Co., died when a Buick 1947 car left Highway 54 six and a third miles south of Jefferson City. The FSPD reports the car traveled 70 to 90 mph, struck a bluff, overturned, and tore the engine from the chassis. Richmond, bound for Jefferson City, was dead on arrival at Tanner Funeral Home. He had only three months with the firm after moving from San Francisco. his wife Agnes is en route from San Francisco. He resided at 1001 Adams Street and was a nephew of Mrs Lean Sin Kile.

The Agriculture Department said late November weather and soil conditions support another large crop season in 1949. Favorable conditions continued for fall sown winter wheat, with this year’s wheat crop already the second largest on record. The first official 1949 winter wheat forecast will be issued December 20.
