Pacific Big Nine to Split Rose Bowl Profits
The Pacific Coast and Western Conferences will divide the Rose Bowl net profits on a 50 50 basis. Commissioner Victor Schmidt announced the terms of the written contract with the Big Nine at the coast conference winter meeting. Two Pedestrians Struck Near City Injured
Two people were injured Sunday night when a car hit them on Highway 50 near the Shady Acres resort, five miles east of the city. Agnes Dudenhoeffer, 24, of Freeburg, suffered a broken leg and bruises and was taken to St Marys hospital in satisfactory condition. Celetos Hoffmeyer, Route 3, had leg abrasions and bruises and was not hospitalized. The driver, Henry Wegman of Belleville, TL, said he slowed near the resort, saw parked cars, and that the pedestrians stepped into the roadway unexpectedly. Wegman, employed in Jefferson City, said he was familiar with the road and road conditions and had been traveling slowly.

Small Cotton Crop Estimate Declines for Year
