Boonville youths who fled boys facility rounded up
The last of 10 youths who escaped the Missouri Training School for Boys at Boonville were captured near Rocheport in Boone County. Six fled late Monday after taking keys from officer Roy Brown and injuring him slightly. four earlier that morning walked away from breakfast.

Fire trucks rushed to the News Tribune in downtown Jefferson City Monday night after a bas ement flash fire erupted while pressmen cleaned the press with white gasoline around 9 45 p.m. The blaze was quickly extinguished with no damage, and the Fire Department was called as a precaution.

Bank holding firms subject of two bills
Two bills concerning bank holding companies, both introduced by Rep. Joe D Holt, reach the Missouri House. One creates an interim committee to study the issue and report to the 1975 legislature, with a moratorium on new bank holding companies and growth of current holdings until then. The other bill gives the state finance commissioner board control over formations and expansions, banning holdings of more than one bank in a municipality, limiting total deposits to 10 percent statewide, and restricting approvals beyond 50 miles from the largest bank. Rep. Robert Snyder and Rep. Fred Williams propose other measures on tax rates for land and auto dealer plates.

Insurance firm wins unusual bid draw in Missouri
Insurance Consultants of Clayton Missouri won an unusual drawing Tuesday held in the office of state purchasing agent Robert L Norris. Ten of 17 bidders for a boiler coverage policy for state institutions had identical bids of 157809 for three years. A secretary mixed ten folded cards and a non government person drew Sidney Salomon of St Louis as the winner.

Red meat output falls in Missouri October report
In October Missouri red meat production dropped 24 percent from 1970. For the first ten months of 1971 totals were 22 percent lower than the previous year. October beef output reached 46.5 million pounds, veal rose 12 percent, pork fell 15 percent, and lamb and mutton were down 95 percent from 1970.
