Child Is Attacked, Bitten By A Rat
In Joplin Missouri, 9 month old Robin Stehm, son of Mr and Mrs Walter Stehm, was attacked and bitten by a rat while sleeping in his crib Sunday night. The infant bled from bites on the right hand and arm but the injury was not considered serious. Police reported the rat entered through a wall hole by the floor.

Sabena Humbrock 87 of 510 Jefferson died yesterday at St Marys Hospital after a week hospitalized for a fall fracture. Born September 27 1862 in Jefferson City she was the daughter of Joseph and Louisa Schnider. She married Benjamin F Humbroeck sixty years ago in Council Bluffs. She was a member of Central Evangelical church. Surviving: husband three sons Walter Kansas City Ben Jr and Gus in Jefferson City two daughters Melvin J Frank Fulton Edward G Davidson St Louis two brothers Joseph Schnider Los Angeles John Schnider Elston one sister Mrs Albert Keller Topeka six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Mrs. Anna Schmoeger, 82, longtime Russellville resident, died after a months long illness. Discovered by her brother Floyd Fluegel and sister Miss Katherine Fluegel, death believed to have occurred about 4 am. Born April 15, 1866, she married Adam Schmoeger in 1911. he died in 1935. A man died of suffocation in a Bourbon Hotel fire early Sunday. Six others escaped, some by rope from windows. Clarence Wilhite, 29, a cap factory supervisor, was found dead in his second floor room amid the flames. The fire’s cause was blamed on a faulty flue.

Eldon Man Fined for Careless Driving Crash
Floyd J. Davis age 37 of Eldon pleaded guilty in police court to careless and reckless driving. He was fined 25 dollars and given a stayed 60 day jail sentence after his State Highways Department truck lurching across East High street struck John Roush’s automobile at 116 West Atchison street causing minor damage to both vehicles.
