Capitol North Side to Get Major Face lifting in 1969
The State Division of Planning and Construction plans a 1969 face lifting for the Capitol north side with bids to open Dec 19, budget around 784000 dollars. Work includes Carthage stone walkways, stairway and balustrade, fountain area stone replacement, new lighting, cleaned and reset statues, a 24 foot parking lane, widened drive, and nearby site changes including demolition of the Tweedie factory and a new sea wall.
