Gas Co. Blast Kills Two in Corpus Christi
A massive explosion at the Hydro Gas Fuel Company plant west of Corpus Christi on December 6 killed at least two people and injured five. Fire crews searched a two quarter-mile debris zone for missing workers as flames from two 12 000 gallon tanks were fought with water hoses after safety valves ruptured. One victim was identified as Rev. E E Lewis, pastor of First Pentecostal Church, who worked at a nearby cleaning plant.
