Prison Break Charges Block Man's Release
E H Ervin spent last night at the state prison the first night in 10 years as he should have been free under the seventeenth twelfths law. He and Virgil Walker were captured Monday night as they rode away from the Church prison farm with Oscar Kramp and Ethel Easter. They were charged with attempted escape while Kramp and Easter faced aiding charges. Bound over to circuit court on escaping, with Ervin's bond set at 6000, Walker held without bond on burglary terms. Easter and Kramp bound over, held on 5000 bond. They were returned to the penitentiary after the hearing. A patrol intervened after complaints inmates were seen with civilians on highways near the prison farm at night.
