Oscar P. D. McDaniel was acquitted by a jury in St Joseph Missouri after about an hour and a quarter of deliberation. The verdict followed a dramatic courtroom moment with Judge Ryan warning against demonstrations. McDaniel's mother expressed relief and he greeted the jurors after the ruling.
A three story brick High street building housing Schultz Shoe store and owned by Mrs Eliza M Steininger sold to A T Dumm for 13000. The sale, via Gordon and Church, marks fair valuation as local business property tops similar figures. Also sold that day, A J Fisher bought a six room frame on South Washington street for 2200 from F J Vetter.
Scott Peters has returned to his California home following a visit with his son D. W. Peters, concluding a brief family visit.
County Court judges visited three active tractor sites as fine weather allows continued grading. Tractor No 3 on Boonville road and beyond Cole Junction. Tractor No 2 south of the city on Henley-brazite road. Tractor No 1 near Taos, the oldest unit.
A student committee in Columbia Mo starts a push to bring Bill Roper back as coach. Coach Schulte will remain as football coach.
A crowd witnessed the completion of the lantern stone at the Capitol dome as Gov. Major and officials joined a 2500 foot ascent via narrow stairs and a wooden ladder. The large three foot diameter stone was cemented in place with a ceremony witnessed by dignitaries and three women who reached the top.
Denver officials say if a man drinks adulterated liquor and falls ill the city may be held responsible. The City Council passed and the mayor signed an ordinance making the health department responsible for inspecting all liquors received in the city.

Gov elect Frederick D. Gardner announces the invited guests for a Friday morning Planters Hotel conference in St. Louis to discuss Missouri taxation and to form committees for revenue bills. The list includes state senators, representatives, former officials, business leaders, and labor figures from across Missouri.
Deputy Sheriff Gorg of Franklin County reported a theft last night after returning from Fulton where he aided a patient. A fine 20 foot gasoline launch owned by Emil W Hendricks at Washington was stolen Monday night, with authorities believing the thieves headed up the river in the boat.

Judge Miller freed Urban Schell after a preliminary hearing on an assault charge stemming from an incident on Punkin Street. John Rich, the mail wagon driver, was tried in Judge Miller's court on a charge of slapping the twelve year old son of Mrs Dorothy Rutledge of Water Street near Marshall. After brief deliberation the jury found him not guilty with Mrs Rutledge as principal witness.
