Two Killed in Snow Crash Near Hannibal
An American Trailways bus and an automobile collided head on on a slick snow packed highway seven miles north of Hannibal Missouri. The car occupants were killed while 11 bus riders mostly unharmed. Authorities identified the car driver as T B Conlon of Overland Park Kansas and passenger S R Atne of Clayton Missouri. Bus driver Albert Louis Monk of Burlington Iowa blamed the car for skidding into the wrong lane.

Carter Glass Jr., 62, copublisher and general manager of the Lynchburg News and Daily Advance, died at 4:15 a.m. after a brain hemorrhage. Diver Rescued After Being Submerged Hours
In Solomon s Maryland a 35 year old Navy diver Joseph R Tallarico was pulled from 120 feet of water in the Patuxent River after nearly nine hours. Fifteen divers worked in relay teams to disentangle his lines from an anchor and hoist him to the surface. He was placed in a decompression chamber and later drank hot coffee while talking with a doctor.
