Weekend Missouri crash toll climbs with multiple injuries
A roundup of weekend crashes across Missouri lists several dead and injured. Marilyn Joy Journot, 38, Kansas City, died in a head on collision with Don Vail, 35, Gravois Mills, who was seriously injured. Journot’s driver Donna Lou Thomas, 37, Kansas City, was also seriously hurt. Other fatalities include Robbie Tehshler, 21, St Louis, and William Swiney, 46, St Louis. Dozens more suffered injuries across U.S. 61, U.S. 70 and I‑55 corridors, as drivers across Clay, St Louis, Osage and adjoining counties faced multi-car wrecks and single-vehicle crashes. Authorities reported injuries requiring hospital care in several cases and multiple minor treatments at local clinics.

J R Cravens dies at 49 in Jefferson City Hospital
J R Cravens 49 of Kirkwood died Monday morning after a week in a Jefferson City hospital. Born November 26 1922 at Lone Jack he was a Navy veteran of World War II and longtime counselor at Kirkwood High School and Ladue East Junior High. He leaves wife Pattie Sue Koelling a son Robert Cravens a daughter Catherine Sue Cravens and several relatives. Funeral at Central United Church of Christ Wednesday at 2 pm with burial in River View Cemetery. Memorials to Kirkwood United Methodist Church.

Indiana man held in jail for assault
Larry Doyle Higer, a 27 year old Lafayette resident, is jailed in Cole County on an assault with intent to do bodily harm charge.
