Traffic wrecks kill in Missouri with multiple fatalities
At least three people died and several were injured in Missouri traffic collisions reported by the Highway Patrol. Morris Keith Sanders, 22, of Shalimar Florida, died when his car skidded, crossed a median, and struck a westbound vehicle on Interstate 70 in Callaway County. Joseph Kindred, 48, of Bartlett Tennessee, sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized. Richard Franklin Holloway, 18, of Bates City, died when the car he rode in left a gravel road and struck a bridge railing in Lafayette County. Edward Irvin Diehl, 21, of St. Charles, died from earlier injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 79 in St. Charles County. Two others injured in that crash were treated at a local hospital. In related area crashes, Richard Fisher, 48, of Owensville, was listed in satisfactory condition after a one-car accident on Highway 28 in Gasconade County.

Kennedy youths injured in wreck on Nantucket road
Two sons of Senator Kennedy escaped serious injury when their open car overturned on a winding Nantucket highway. Joseph Kennedy II 20 drove. David Kennedy 18 suffered a possible back sprain.
