Child custody dispute ends with Gilpin gaining supervised custody
In a habeas corpus hearing Judge Robert R. Henderson granted Edward M. Gilpin custody of his two children Ellen V. and Lurcie E. with court supervision. The decision followed testimony that the children advised by their late mother not to live with a step mother, and that the defendants Mrs. Martha Baldwin and Miss Sue Baldwin were their grandmother and aunt. If mistreatment occurs, custody may revert to the grandparents.
