Flag Day Observed by County Protestant Societies

In Iburg on June 14 the Flag Day program drew a large crowd despite bad weather. Rev J H Bickford led the invocation, with singing by a male quartet and Mrs June Robertson Donnelly singing The Star Spangled Banner. Addresses by Rev F I Mumford and Rev Augustus E Barnett discussed the flag, Bible, and schooling, amid praise for the ceremony and some religious critique. Prof Arthur F Smith noted the federation represents about 4,000 members in Allegany county and 40,000 people indirectly.
