Russians Triumph Over Turks In The Caucasus
The Russians report a sweeping victory over Turkish forces in the Caucasus. The Eleventh and part of the Tenth Army Corps were defeated near Kara Urgan, eight Turkish transports sunk in the Black Sea, and five thousand prisoners taken with fourteen guns and vast supplies. Reports from Constantinople indicate public unrest against Enver Bey and the Young Turk policy amid the upheaval. Turkish forces also advance into Persia, with executions of Persian governors and movements toward Isfahan. German and French actions at the fronts are described, with the war at sea and land battles ongoing and strategic aims against British commerce discussed.
