City Council Meets Sets Fines and Budgets
The city council met Monday evening with Constable Ward reporting receipts from dog tax and fines totaling 45.50 and several accounts referred to the finance committee including Electric Light Co. and Water Works Co. An amendment to the Pound Bylaw was read a first and second time making harboring a cog illegal without a license. A bylaw to govern motor cycle speed was to be introduced. Drains reported blocked were ordered cleared.

Successful Sale of Work Supports Cumberland Hall Fund
The Cumberland hall sale of work on May 18 raised over 200 for the vicarage fund with J. Thomson supplying ice cream. A concert at Iloilo Theatre that evening featured the Symphony Orchestra under J. H. McMillan with an encored violin solo Meditation. Gleemen led by G. Odgers presented classical and humorous glees to strong applause.
