The notice lists weekly services and classes led by Pastor Rev Jas Hood and Rev Wm Elliott. Bible Class and Sunday School times, midweek prayer, choir practices, and Young People’s Society meet on specified days from July 26 to August 9 with evening services and monthly Ladies’ Aid Society meetings.
Mail timetable lists departures from S.S. Cowichan and S.S. Charmer with times on Tuesday Thursday and Saturday. Mail closes for dispatch are given as 6 a.m. on Friday and 12 noon Wednesday for the respective routes. Directions urge use of Rural Route No 1 Cumberland for Happy Valley or Minto mail and note 2 cent postage to avoid mis-sent letters.
Notice in the 1913 British Columbia Gazette declares the abandonment of a segment of the Old Government Road from Cumberland to Comox Lake. The described portion starts at the junction with the new road near Wellington Colliery Railway and extends inland toward the lake for about 1.07 miles, with right of way 83 feet each side of the centre.
