Margaret Johnson daughter of J Johnson and wife of Courtenay died in Tucson Arizona at age 28. Born in Cumberland Hospital she was May Queen 1921 at Memorial Hall and a Union Bay School pupil later graduating St Joseph's Victoria in 1928. Her family moved to Arizona for health reasons and she left surviving parents brothers Daryl Thomas Jack Thomson and relatives.

Fatal Accident at Extension Mine Wednesday
A fatal accident occurred in No 4 Extension mine Wednesday afternoon when Giuseppe Riceputy known as Joe Peanuts was killed by a fall of coal. The deceased was a well known district figure, native of Italy, who had lived at the Wheatsheaf Hotel for some time and was popular locally. He had no relatives in the area.
