Alez McLeod Dies From Coal Mine Injuries
Alexander McLeod died at Cumberland General Hospital on Monday July 29 from injuries suffered ten days earlier in a fall of top coal at No 4 Mine of the Canadian Coli eries. A Nova Scotia native in his 42nd year, he resided here years, was reserved and respected. Embalmed at Banks Undertaking Parlors, his funeral was held Wednesday with Union Lodge I O C F members escorting the body to the Wellington Colliery Railway Co for shipment to Nova Scotia friends.
