A cyclone near Bartville Illinois on June 21 killed at least 26 people and wounded many. Fields' School House at Four Corners was torn apart leaving eight students dead and bodies carried distances with severe injuries. Property damage included demolished houses and barns.
A powerful cyclone struck west of CopnelL Illinois on June 21 tearing houses apart and injuring many. The path about eighty rods wide moved at eighty miles per hour, killing seventeen at Paw Paw grove and destroying the eastern part of town. numerous injuries were reported with rescue efforts underway.
A fierce hail storm struck St Charles Minnesota on Thursday evening affecting five miles of townships including Saratoga and Fremont. Crops such as wheat and oats were almost destroyed and heavy rainfall followed, washing away fences bridges and remaining belongings from many farms already stripped by hail.
Speaker Reed and Mr. McKinley strove to amend the house journal but fell two votes short amid Republican absenteeism. Salinger was in precarious condition and expected to die within hours. Koenig absolved of evil intent, claiming the event was an accident. The assailant was grief stricken.
The Erie railroad and Lake Shore and Michigan Southern switchmen returned to their yard yesterday at Lake Shore wage scale. The Nickel Plate Valley railway Cleveland Canton and Southern and Pennsylvania yardmen remain out seeking at least ten hours for a twelve hour day.

Three burglars tried entering the Woopsury post office at 3 am. Chief Cattell and Officer Du Bois surprised them. two escaped while one was captured after a chase and gunfire. The big safe had been blown open and rifled. about 600 dollars in stamps and 200 in cash were missing along with all registered letters. A package of registered letters was later found blocks away.
J J Werner threw L O Secrest from a third story window of the Merchants hotel in Omaha injuring him fatally. Two men attending the Grand Masonic lodge from Hebron were roommates. A quarrel over cerneau rites is hinted, though Werner says it was a nightmare. Werner was arrested and released on bonds.
New York June 21 Proceedings began in the U S court in a suit by John W Mackay California millionaire to recover 352597 78 with interest from January 1 1889 from Cassius H Read and Edward S Stokes partners of C H Read Co The suit claims money advanced at various times before July 28 1885 to the defendants.
Catharine Powers alias May Leonard, who stole a diamond bracelet from Cushions jewelry store, was arrested in Cleveland and brought back for conviction. She was sentenced to five years in the Erie county penitentiary after a lengthy appellate court delay.
