Piedmont noted visitors include Mr. Carl W. F. Stuiber from Piedmont and Miss Nellie Sprigg of Moorefield W V visiting families on the West Side. Philadelphia guest Miss Reese stays with Mrs. W H Blocher on Hanover Street. Misses Harrison of Piedmont visit local friends. Rev Mr Thompson editor of the Keyser Echo visited the Times office. Miss Mattie Caldwell of Wheeling W V visits Miss Donna Tilghman on Washington Street. Mrs Dr Thompson of Mt Savage and Miss Harrison of Piedmont were seen in the city today. Ladies knit Jersey vests sold at Hambleton's Bee Hive. A scaffold at Mrs Scott Cochran’s West Washington Street house fell injuring three workmen who were uninjured.
The church holds a picnic at Seiss Grove on Wednesday July 4 offering amusements of all kinds and expected good times.

Mrs Rachael Taylor aged 47 died at her Frederick street home last night after a long illness. She left eight children, three sons and five daughters. A post mortem by Drs Twigg Craigen and Brace found stomach cancer as the cause of death.

The Allegany County Academy music department under Prof Agthe held commencement exercises at Belvidere Hall. The program impressed a large audience with faultless execution and applause. Miss Millholland Roberts McCormick and Little received flowers after standout performances. After five days of search in the Chesapeake the body of T Harrison Garrett was found afloat in the Patapsco near the Magothy river. The Nanticoke crew recovered the corpse and transferred it to shore for burial at Evergreen. Coroners prepared to hold a inquest as funeral plans were announced. The Joppa Gleam collision investigation was postponed to Saturday morning.

Special Dispatch to the Times reports General Philip H. Sheridan's health shows no change or slight improvement. His mother Mrs. Sheridan died in Somerset, Connecticut, at 1 30 pm yesterday afternoon, aged 87 years and 2 months.

In Bern on June 13 doctors report Emperor Frederick III in an almost hopeless condition. Crown Prince summoned at midnight. Dr Bardeleben and Dr Mackenzie stay at the palace. After feeding through a throat tube the Emperor felt better but refuses food, weakening him further.
Dr. Alan P. Smith assisted by his son N R Smith Bryson Wood and A B Gaither operated on Bob Slavin yesterday at the minstrel's home on Peninsylvania avenue. Slavin had months of ear inflammation reaching the skull and the operation brought great relief. He is an Elk of prominence and performed with McNish Slavin and Johnson in Cumberland in a recent minstrel show.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Executive Committee named Senator Kenna, Representative Bryce of New York, and Fisher of Michigan to a subcommittee. They will meet the Democratic National Committee when it visits Washington on June 28 to discuss plans for the coming campaign.
