In Doutvuth Minn on July 8 a deadly fight erupted between police and about 1500 strikers armed with clubs pistols and rocks. The battle along Michigan street lasted about thirty minutes with police and strikers exchanging fire from trenches and buildings. Several leaders were arrested and many civilians injured with at least one fatality reported Ed Johnson was shot retreating and George Peterson died after an assault by officers. Multiple others were wounded with varying severity including bayonet and pellet injuries.

Death from a Rattlesnake Bite Near Pemberton
