Funeral of Deputy Marshal Ganning at St Patrick’s Church
The funeral for the late U S Deputy Marshal Thomas W Ganning was held at 9 o clock from his residence at Decatur and Baltimore extends and was well attended. A Requiem High Mass was celebrated at St Patrick s Church by Rev Brennan and many floral tributes were sent. Pallbearers included Edward Mulvavey James Carney John Byrnes Thomas Connell DeW H Reynolds Alex King D James Blackiston and Wm Mattingly. Interment followed at St Patrick s Cemetery.

Deer Case Hits Garrett County Trial Under 1886 Act
The first Garrett County deer killing case under the 1886 act arose before Justice Gonder as George Geisman transported a deer to Oakland for shipment by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. He was arrested for possession, which under the act implies killing. Geisman proved the deer was killed in West Virginia and was discharged.

McQuade Convicted in 1854 Broadway Surface Rail Bribe
Ex-Alderman McQuade was found guilty yesterday of accepting a bribe to vote for the Broadway Surface Railroad franchise in 1854. The jury deliberated less than an hour and supported conviction on the first ballot. He was moved to the Tombs and the court will hear further motions tomorrow.
