Gov Smith expands Parks and Wildlife panel amid clash
Gov Preston Smith reshapes the Parks and Wildlife Commission by enlarging it from three to six and naming three new appointees. The reshuffle follows a dispute over Padre and Mustang Island park plans with Jersig Gilvin and lawmakers backing expansion to avert future embarrassment. Mustang Island remains tied up in legal action.
