Senate Votes to Abolish School Taxes in Texas
The Texas Senate approved by a two vote margin a bill to abolish school property taxes and shift the cost of the Foundation School Program to the state. The measure, 16 to 14 on a tentative vote, would require about 300 million more dollars from state funds.
