Town Tank and Local Anecdotes Mix with Family Notes
A jumble of notes references vacancies in various units, thanks to individuals including Werner Kautz and the Bongiovi family. It recalls Charles C. Howerton an early mayor, sheriff, and Confederate deputy marshal who moved to Texas in the 1850s and Cuero in 1873, with later roles as District Clerk. It weaves in quotes about luck, family stories, weddings, and rustic sayings.
