Griffin ends windup and wins for Astros in 8-0 Expos win
Houston pitcher Tom Griffin abandoned the windup for a stretch delivery and pitched seven scoreless innings in an 8-0 victory over the Montreal Expos. He had struggled early, but the change reduced wildness and helped sweep the three game series, extending Montreal’s losing streak and keeping them winless in Houston. Griffin said the no windup approach made him more compact and deliberate between pitches.
