Flying Tiger Air Line celebrates 25 years of cargo leadership
Veterans of World War II founded the Flying Tiger Line in Long Beach with a Budd Conestoga. It grew into the world’s largest all cargo carrier with a $200 million fleet, flying 110 009 pounds per plane at 559 mph over a 3000 mile range. The CAB certificate under Nixon linked the U S Asia routes, serving major domestic cities and international hubs with electronics garments and military cargo, atop a slogan to fly any load through the airport gate.
