Texas Water Plan Questioned by Ecologist
Fort Worth reports say Dr. W. Frank Blair of the University of Texas challenged the Texas Water Plan at a Greenville meeting of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. He cited concerns about Mississippi River water quality and the large upstream recharge needs, urging reevaluation of priorities such as weather modification and underground pool recharge. The gathering also heard Frank H. Lewis of Bay City address beef supply and import pressures, while Kerry McCan of Victoria and Joe Davidson of the Texas Fish and Game Department discussed wildlife resources and their value to ranchers.
