Cuero Council Advances Library, Delinquents, and Building Plans
At the January meeting the Cuero council approved deeding the Crescent Valley Creamery property to the Wayne Estate for potential library use as Gussie Burnet Library. City manager Larry Smith reported only six of 81 delinquent property owners replied to notices and warned of legal action. Thirty-five open Corporation Court cases were cited and warrants may be issued without response. The council accepted designation of Cuero Public Library as a community library and noted a grant of 300 volumes valued at $2,000. Plans involve a new groundwater storage tank on West French and sewer work to the new junior high. Additional actions included bidding on paying materials, central HVAC for the Municipal Park Clubhouse, property damage insurance for city vehicles, and pending damage claim procedures.
