Fund established to aid Cuero family in medical expenses
A fund to help defray medical costs for Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lange of Cuero for their premature infant Patrick William has been started at Buchel Bank and Trust Co. Contributions may be mailed to the Cuero Lions Club Lange Infant Fund or arranged through Wallace Beck. A related benefit coffee was held Monday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, sponsored by the Cuero Lions Club.

Strong cattle demand at Cuero sale with 1042 head listed
Cuero Livestock Commission saw strong demand as year end nears. Co-owner Finley Blackwell reported higher prices across cattle classes including packer cows and bulls, with 50 good Hereford cows and 3 year old heifers consigned for January 2 sale. Receipts totaled 1042 head, plus 23 hogs. slaughter cattle bulls 28 to 33, stocker bulls 515 top, calves 32 to 36.50, yearlings 28 to 32.

CFD Auxiliary hosts Cuero Fire Dept Christmas Party
The Ladies Auxiliary to the Cuero Fire Department met at the fire station for their annual Christmas party with 46 members and one honorary member present. A turkey supper was served and gifts exchanged under the entertainment committee led by Mrs. Melba Wanjura. The group held a brief meeting with Mrs. Kay Rath presiding and heard Lena Leist report on the Fireman's Dance from December 13. The attendance prize went to Mrs. Bernice Kleinecke. market prices for cattle and hogs were listed.
