A Paris Saint Laurent winter collection blends 1930s-40s influence with a modern college girl look. Models wear long tight cardigans, V-neck sweaters, and metallic short cardigans for day and night, echoing a study vibe while maintaining tailored elegance.
Jan Marie Barber daughter of Mr and Mrs Alfred James Prasek and Robert James Kurtz son of Mr Steve A Kurtz and the late Mrs Kurtz were united in marriage April 15 at 6 pm with Rev William Jennings officiating. The ceremony on the Bill Laster place along the Guadalupe River featured a yellow peasant dress and daisies atop a white Bible. The bride’s maid of honor wore a pink rose print dress while Bobby Rickman served as best man. A chicken barbecue followed as tables held yellow cloths and wildflower centerpieces. The bride, a Southwest Texas State University graduate, teaches at a Wimberley day care. the groom is a Vietnam veteran.
Beta Sigma Phi members from Alpha Gamma Psi and Xi Nu Phi will meet at El Patio on April 26 to observe Founder's Day. Officers for each chapter will be installed. Xi Nu Phi recently earned the Exemplar charter and includes 13 members, five of whom moved from Alpha Gamma Psi. All members are urged to attend the installation dinner.
The collection features shirtwaist dresses with hemlines well below the knee and oversized turtle neck sweaters peeking from jackets. Saint Laurent nods to Coco Chanel with chain belts and long pearl ropes, reflecting admiration for the late designer.
Marie Mills of Cuero bride elect of Jimmy Winter of Victoria was honored with a kitchen shower in San Marcos where she attends Southwest Texas State University. Hostesses included Mary Peyton Alice Pozzi Suzanne Winter Diane Randle and Pam Wood. About thirty guests attended.
Messrs and Mesdames Murray Tarkington Howard Milton Carl Wagner Lester Giese and Mrs John J Bell hosted the Cuero Country Club monthly dinner party Saturday evening with a social hour and dinner served from a long bar arranged with mixed spring flowers.
