Jackson store on Kommercia! street just south of the State ferry dock. I'ottle called to them to stop and when thoy failed to obey his comma lid In* tired a shot. Theykept on running and as they passed Aubrey Steen's store at t 'ommercint and *Kerry streets he tired again but his bullet smashed a pane of glass instead of hitting tin* fleeing men. They ran up Commercial street to Summer when they dixapiM*ared. He kept after them but was unable to locate them. Investigation showed that a pane of glass had been removed from the rear of the Jackson store. The police theory is that one man was on watch while the other was making the break. There is no clue to the identity of the men.
