Patt Jury Awards Rent Judgment Against Creston Man
After seven hours the district court jury awarded J. H. Patt of Creston a judgment of 1 864 93 against W. F. Finefield for unpaid rent on a Creston business property. Finefield's counterclaim for 10 000 in damages due to alleged building repairs was dismissed. Judge Homer A. Fuller remained in Clarke County to open the November term and will return to preside over a separate fraud case against W. E. Pierson sailing from Afton bank.

Taylor County agent secured for job here
L A Nordhausen of Bedford was elected Union county agent for 1926 at a special meeting of the Union bureau board. He will begin January 1, succeeding L J Nickle who moved to a Marshalltown firm. Nordhausen, 25, is a Iowa State College graduate in crops and soils, with animal husbandry experience, and has prior work as club leader in Calhoun and Taylor counties. The transfer secures continued federal aid. The Union county bureau numbers 340 families, with 1926 plans and two 1925 projects advancing. Nordhausen and his wife will move to Creston January 1. the office remains in Creston.

Union county car owners face a December deadline to license current year plates. County treasurer McCornack warns new cars bought after Oct 1 and out of state cars brought in after Oct 1 must pay a quarter year 1925 license before 1926 numbers. If bought before Oct 1 or brought in before that date, owners pay half a year 1925 license. Affidavits required to secure first license plates.

Washington today ordered withdrawal of prohibition permits that allowed homeowners to manufacture up to 200 gallons of wine annually. W J Hayden 74 died at noon today at his home northeast of Creston near Zion after a period of poor health. He is survived by his widow three sons Charles Roy and Theodore and one daughter Mrs Ferne Linthicum all at home. The funeral is set for 3 PM Wednesday at Hill of Zion church with burial in Zion cemetery.
