Yard accident claims life of J M Swanson engineer
John M Swanson a veteran engineer for the Chicago Burlington and Quincy died at Greater Community hospital after injuries from a yard collision between a north branch motor car and the engine he rode. The crash scalded him and he died at 1 30 PM. Fireman William Ralls escaped unharmed as the runaway engine was stopped near the west end tunnel. Prisoners Welch and Smith Escape from Emmetsburg Jail
