Card of Thanks expresses gratitude from Mrs Belle Anderson Maurice Anderson and Glenn Anderson for kindness during bereavement. Appreciation noted for assistance and sympathy from friends and neighbors.
Miss Nell Ryan arrives home from a trip to Amarillo and Denver to visit brother J. D. Sweeney and family. The Creston firm will be closed all day Monday September 28 for a holiday. She has been away for the past two weeks.

Announcement states the Little Jem Picture shop will remain in Creston to accommodate many people who could not get their pictures taken this week. Patrons are urged to come early to avoid the rush at the shop near the Iowa State Savings Bank offering six pictures for 10 cents.

S A Long of Afton and H Herold of Kent visit Creston and Des Moines on business. Miss Mable Jones and Miss Mayme McClintic head to Shenandoah and Des Moines. Miss Mary Verseck goes to Prescott. Maurice Brown and R S Shouse return from Omaha. Mrs Cassett, Mrs Cort, and Mrs Herr welcome news from Dubuque. Walter Moran and Velma James travel to Aurelia and Hill City respectively. Mrs Childs plans Omaha and Denver trips. Darley family to Denver for winter.
In Creston Iowa the Burlington Route announces schedule changes effective September 27 and 28. Westbound No 1 and eastbound No 10 are discontinued. No 5 south departs 5 50 am daily and No 9 departs at 9 33 pm start date noted. Dale Ellis, ticket agent.
Student nurses of Greater Community Hospital hosted a Friday evening farewell at the home of Miss Busby’s brother W F Busby 304 North Sycamore Street. Miss Lena Busby resigns and will leave the hospital at month’s end. Guests included Miss Ruby Guthrie Mrs Bert Tallman Mrs David Coffeen and Miss Busby.
The Loyal Friends class of the Christian church held a supper at the church last evening. Rev. H. H Twyford and class president Harry Schuler gave sociability talks to boost the evangelistic campaign led by the Ministerial alliance. The group, comprising over 60 young married members, enjoyed a social evening with games and music.
The H. G. L. club met at Mr. and Mrs. Leo Wiedman home on Friday for games and contests. Dainty refreshments were served at the close. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. William Hertzog and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Searls and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Boswell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harp and son Donald, Mr. Harp's father, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Foster and son, Glenn, and the Wiedmans.
Mrs Elizabeth Agnew hosted a Friday evening card party at 906 Wes Montgomery Street. Bridge winner was Mrs Loretta Cusack with Miss Jamison as consolation.
Jainty refreshments capped the evening as Miss Jami son and Miss Streepy visited. Don Quinn of Sedalia arrived in Creston to attend to business matters while Mr. and Mrs. John Blair Sr. returned home after a walk in Ock Wood. Emmett McCoy and A. Marsh have come home from Chicago. H N Linebarger of Denver and A A Wright of Houston are in Creston for a few days of business and visits. The Moores of North Oak Street returned from Tarkio to see Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Moore and their new granddaughter. Mrs. Will Elftman came home from Burlington after a three week absence. Gene Edaburn, visiting with his parents on Sycamore, left for Chadron to hunt with his uncle and will return to St. Louis by Oct. 5. Mary Ann Herber of Otumwa returned home with her grandfather and was joined by her aunt Miss Kitty Sheridan for a two week stay. Roy Wann has become a butcher at Brady Food Market and plans to move from Villisca back to Creston with his family.
Dr R A Swanson operates as a chiropraetor at Hester's Shoe Store located at 107 North Maple Street. Office phone is 5663 and residence phone is 937.
