At Pol Kity a man identified as Tim Chandler shot and killed Mrs Will McLean and her two daughters before turning the gun on himself after requesting a ride from the party at the schoolhouse. The three victims died or were wounded as Chandler ended his own life.
J. DeLay has been named national councillor to represent the Creston chamber of commerce in the Chamber of Commerce of the United States. The council, with one representative from each of 1400 groups, acts as an advisory body to the national chamber's board and selects a nominating committee at pre convention meetings.
New York September 25 The meeting of baseball officials attended by Commissioner Landis set October 10 as the date for the World Series and discussed freight rate adjustments on wheat at Yankee Stadium.
White Plains New York September 25 Justice Wagner denied Isaac Mills bid to dismiss the first degree murder charge against the son of a millionaire baker. The motion came after the state rested its case in the Clarence Peters murder trial.

Des Moines reports State Fire Marshal J A Tracy may travel to Lodi New Jersey to identify Vincent Terzy as the arson suspect connected to fires at Cedar Rapids Marshalltown and Chicago Maywood. Terzo was arrested in Lodi after fires in unfinished apartments and is reportedly indicted in Cedar Rapids and895 bonded out at 2500.
Captain Edward H Wanton, commander of the wrecked destroyer squadron, told the naval inquiry board he chose the eastward turn at 9 pm, a move he says sent seven ships to destruction. He said the change was ordered at 8 25 pm to keep ships south of Point Arguello and into the Santa Barbara channel.

Three bandits robbed the First State Bank at Arvada and escaped with 5900 in currency. After their getaway car broke down they fought a gun duel while attempting a second car theft from Henry W. Feurstein’s garage. They fled, dropping part of the loot. only 1665 was recovered.

The funeral for Mrs. May Pierson of Afton, who died Sunday of pneumonia, was held at 2:30 this afternoon from the Pierson home. Rev. Mr. Irvine officiated. She is survived by Mr. Pierson, two sons, a daughter, and several grandchildren. C. A. Pierson presides over the Afton Savings Bank.
