In Paris rioting outside the city, American and French flags torn, shots fired, and punches thrown at a Clichy anti American demonstration amid police precautions. Lightning Kills Cow in Lenox Shed During Milking
Near Lenox on Friday morning Gus Olson faced a dramatic event as lightning struck his milking shed killing a cow and injuring others. Olson escaped uninjured though he was deafened briefly while nearby resident Charles Wurster reported four cattle killed by the same storm. Charles Wiand was stunned by a barn door hinge strike.

Non-Resident Pleads Guilty For Peddling Without License
Sam Green, a non resident, pleaded guilty before Mayor George Newcomb in police court today to a charge of peddling with out a license. He was fined 10 dollars and costs. Green was arrested Sunday night while selling novel ties on the streets. A high coupe with license 79 3859 crashed into a guard rail on primary 34 near the overhead bridge east of Creston Sunday night. The left front wheel crushed and glass broken. Driver unknown at this time.

Cool Weather Follows Late Summer Heat
A 52 degree drop from Saturday to Sunday morning was reported by local weather observer J W Goodsell. Highs reached 83, lows fell to 41, with an inch of rain ending a heat wave. Frost is not expected soon and cooler weather is forecast for Iowa. Big snowflakes and light rain fell in Fergus Falls Minnesota.

Youth Admits Slaying Child in Iowa Murder Case
Cedar Rapids reports 15-year-old Lyle Messner confessed to the Kathleen Forrest murder in the basement hole of a vacant house. He implicated his father William Messner in conspiracy to obstruct justice after Kathleen, 6, was killed. The older Messner was later arrested and faces charges.
