Mrs. Charles Broy, runaway wife of the former American consul at Cherbourg, waits in Coblenz for her husband to return or send funds. Broy told a correspondent he will reflect before deciding and will telegraph tomorrow. Army intelligence officials look for her abductor Walter Damn as she is cared for in Coblenz after diving from the Grand Concourse in New York.
Washington authorities say a Senate poll counts enough votes to sustain the Presidential veto of the Banking bill. The advisory staff announced the tally after reviewing the chamber's sentiments.

The council opposes a general strike despite many unions urging action, noting officers have no authority to call or advise such a strike.

Cumberland Md Sept 18 Four men were shot in Burton Md twenty five miles west of here during a clash between non union men and striking workers two of the wounded are believed fatally shot others injured in the confrontation reported by the Associated Press
Jackson California September 18 The opening between the Kennedy and Argonaut mines has been timbered. Two rescue men have passed to the 4,200 foot level where the 47 entombed miners are believed to be. Air rushing through requires four men to close a door while the air is purified and the Argonaut fire has decreased. The canary bird shows slight effects.
The hearing on the Keller impeachment charges against Attorney General Daugherty was postponed today until December.
